Davenport Family Dentistry is seeking a highly skilled, patient-centric Dental/Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team in Decatur, AL. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of delivering seamless chairside assistance, maintaining rigorous infection control protocols, and elevating the patient experience. Responsibilities
- Greet, and interact with patient for treatment ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed for orthodontic appointments
- Sterilize instruments according to OSHA
- Be familiar with placing bands, brackets, lingual bars among other routine ortho procedures consistent with maintaining good hygiene while undergoing orthodontic treatment
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records for orthodontic cases progression including taking intraoral pictures, cephalometric, and other records
Skills
- Proven experience as an orthodontic assistant
- Intra oral scanning
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma
