What You'll Do
As a Fiber Installation Technician, you'll be responsible for delivering industry-leading installation and repair services while creating an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Install, activate, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic, internet, television, telephone, and Wi-Fi services.
- Configure customer equipment and educate customers on its operation.
- Perform residential and commercial installations according to company quality standards.
- Diagnose service issues and complete repairs efficiently.
- Ensure every installation meets company and customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized company vehicle and work area.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and fellow technicians.
- Accurately complete required documentation using company software and mobile applications.
- Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates are dependable, customer-focused professionals who take pride in their work.
Qualifications include:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of two years of driving experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a team player.
- Previous telecommunications, cable, internet, electrical, or construction experience is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position requiring:
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to safely carry and operate a 28-foot extension ladder.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and driving throughout the day.

Schedule
- Typical Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend availability is required.
- Work is performed at customer locations throughout Northern Illinois.
- This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.
