Job Description
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading all shipping, warehouse, documentation, logistics, and finished goods operations to ensure products are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position oversees domestic and international logistics, import/export compliance, customs documentation, and carrier relationships while driving continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong logistics expertise, experience managing teams, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise shipping, warehouse, finished goods, clean and box, and documentation teams while coaching employees and managing performance.
- Coordinate domestic and international freight, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, HTS classifications, import/export documentation, and trade requirements.
- Partner with Planning, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and other departments to prioritize shipments, improve processes, and meet customer delivery expectations.
- Manage freight costs, transportation providers, customs brokers, and logistics performance while driving continuous improvement through KPIs, CAPA projects, and 5S initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct investigations, maintain accurate records, and support audits related to shipping, customs, and logistics operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred with leadership experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with customs compliance, import/export documentation, HTS classifications, tariff regulations, Incoterms, and international shipping.
- Experience using ERP systems, shipping software, carrier portals, broker platforms, or global trade management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and performance management skills with the ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international transportation regulations, customs compliance, freight optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
