American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position at a Level III perinatal center, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.

and postpartum RN roles for a comprehensive maternity services campus with a Level II NICU

Level III high-risk perinatal unit featuring 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area

Facility averages 200-300 births per month
-
Staffing goals include 1:1 ratios in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum

Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Weekend shifts required

Floating to Postpartum required

No on-call responsibilities

Charting is done in EPIC

Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring

AWHONN Advanced certification preferred

Epic EMR experience required
-
Experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries preferred; candidates from facilities with 100-200 deliveries will also be considered

Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) skill is a hardstop requirement
-
Skilled in labor and delivery management, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulating for C-sections
-
Experience with fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
-
Two professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum units as needed
-
Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section procedures
-
Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
-
Provide postpartum care including couplet care, hemorrhage management, and lactation support
-
Unit is supported by 2-3 surgical techs per shift, 3 CNAs per shift in postpartum, 3-4 delivering providers 24/7, 2 CRNAs 24/7, and 2 Health Unit Coordinators 24/7

Scrubs of any color are permitted except reddish orange

Parking is provided at no cost by the facility

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated

Local candidates are not accepted for this position, with a 50-mile radius rule in effect

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel nurse and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
