Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, assisting them with daily activities, and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work independently while following care plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness in the client's living space, including laundry and light housekeeping tasks.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the healthcare team.
- Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy.
- Support clients with memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Collaborate with family members and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status.
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care.
- CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with catheter care and hospice care is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or other special needs.
- Proficient in providing senior care, including home health and long-term care experience.
- Capable of performing cleaning duties related to client care environments.
