Responsibilities
- Operate conveyor belts, industrial pumps, and heavy equipment to transport materials efficiently throughout wastewater treatment plants and water systems.
- Monitor programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal system performance.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, plumbing, and conveyor components.
- Collect data related to system performance, environmental compliance metrics, and operational efficiency for reporting purposes.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, calibration, and part replacement to minimize downtime.
- Assist with construction activities related to system upgrades or expansions while adhering to safety protocols.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently to ensure safety during heavy lifting, equipment repair, and system operation.
- Support environmental compliance efforts by maintaining water treatment standards and wastewater system regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience working with wastewater treatment plants or water systems is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial pump maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation technology.
- Background in operating heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts within industrial settings.
- Construction experience related to infrastructure projects or plant upgrades is advantageous.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations relevant to wastewater treatment and water quality standards.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for data collection and analysis tasks.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for troubleshooting system issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
