Excellent supplemental income opportunity for Special Education Teachers and Executive Functioning Coaches (many middle school and high school teachers are great coaches based on their daily work with students)!
We're also looking for reading specialists, math specialists, and high school level STEM educators (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, etc).
Chicago Home Tutor places special education teachers, executive functioning coaches, reading specialists, math specialists, and teachers with experience in effective academic interventions for in-home, one-to-one tutoring services (may also meet 1:1 with students at school/library.)
Work flexible hours, close to home or work, and make a significant difference in children's academic success by tutoring diverse learners on a one-to-one basis. You make your own schedule and decide when you work and who you work with!
We are looking for tutors who have availability across Chicagoland - we have clients in both the city and the suburbs. We are also happy to match you with clients who are near to both your home and work addresses for easy commutes.
Especially encouraged to apply:
- Tutors with specific intervention training experience such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, Executive Functioning training and Touch Math.
- All certified teachers who are eager to work with students 1:1 in their homes
- Special education teachers (LBS1 certified) who want a flexible, part-time schedule with students in either home or school settings. This can be a great fit for retired special educators.
- Educators or School Psychologists who have experience supporting students with executive functioning needs (organization, time management, task completion, etc.)
Job Requirements:
- Design and deliver evidence-driven academic instruction for students (PreK-12).
- Conduct assessments of current student skills to determine academic needs (using interviews, record reviews, curriculum-based assessments, etc.).
- Design and deliver evidence-driven social-emotional support if needed (behavior plans, social stories, on/off task monitoring, etc.).
- Monitor student progress and communicate progress to clients and parents (and school if requested by parents).
- Collaborate with other tutors about specific cases to offer and receive support.
Submit a cover letter and resume. Please specify which areas of Chicago and/or suburbs (with zip codes) you would be willing to travel and any training and expertise relevant to the position.
We look forward to hearing from you!
