Automotive and equipment mechanic
We are a busy automotive electrical repair ship looking for a mechanically minded, experienced mechanic to join our team.
This is not a dealership environment. We work on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, so we need someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, thinking outside the box, and figuring out how things work.
Our work ranges from golf carts and personal vehicles to RVs, fifth wheels, commercial vehicles, tractor trailers, and other equipment. No two days are exactly alike.
What we are looking for: We’re looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and real-world trouble shooting ability. Dealership experience is not required, and outside-shop experience is a plus.
The right person will be someone who:
Has solid mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience
Can diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
Is comfortable working on a wide variety of make, model, and equipment
Can read and understand wiring diagrams and electrical systems
Is comfortable using diagnostic tools and test equipment
Can think through a problem and figure out a solution
Understands that working in an independent shop requires versatility
Is dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
You may be diagnosing a starting or charging problem one day, troubleshooting wiring on an RV the next, and working on a commercial vehicle after that.
We need a mechanic that likes that variety. If you’ve spent your career in a dealership, that’s great-but we are not looking for someone who can only follow manufacturer procedures for a specific make.
If you prefer figuring out the root cause of a problem rather than simply following a parts list, you’ll fit in well here.
You must have previous mechanical experience, strong mechanical aptitude, a valid driver’s license, own basic hand tools, and be able to work on a variety of vehicle types.
We’re an independent shop where your ability and experience matter. You’ll have the opportunity to work on interesting, unusual, challenging projects and expand your mechanical and electrical skills along the way.
If you’re a hands-on mechanic who enjoys figuring things out and doesn’t need a dealership service manual to tell you how to think, we want to hear from you.
We offer PTO, Holidays, health insurance, paid training, uniforms, retirement, etc
Apply today and tell us about your experience! Please apply to this posting or call Paul at 724-668-2100 to schedule an interview.
