Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in meal preparation. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and chop ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, and other components as per recipes.
- Assist chefs in meal preparation and cooking tasks while following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring all food handling practices meet industry standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
