Position Title: Assistant Football Coach (Recruiting Coordinator/Offense)
Reports to: Head Football Coach
Primary function: The assistant football coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the daily operations and overall administration of the football program. They will provide an excellent, transformative student-athlete experience, demonstrate positive progress in competitive standing in the Presidents Athletic Conference and recruit student-athletes to the college.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Preference given to candidates with offensive coaching/playing experience
- Preference given to candidates with recruiting coordinating and operations experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Essential duties
- Assist head coach in practice organization and game day coaching.
- Coach, develop, and lead their own position group (most likely running backs, but looking for best fit)
- Assist in the coordination of recruiting student-athletes including being assigned a specific recruiting territory.
- Assist with operational duties as directed by the head coach (EX: game day travel, equipment management and inventory, etc.)
- Assist in offensive game planning, scouting, and film breakdown
- Support practice planning and on-field instruction
- Mentor and support the development of student-athletes on and off the field with an emphasis on retention
- Organize and run position group meetings
- Ensure adherence to all institutional, Presidents’ Athletic Conference, and NCAA regulations
- Assigned responsibilities within the daily operations and overall administration of the football program
- Performs other duties and special projects that may be assigned within the college or athletic department
Special challenges and environment:
Frequent nights and weekends; frequent work outdoors, often in adverse weather conditions; must be able to lift at least 25 pounds; must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
