Duties
- Prepare a variety of dishes ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production appliances
- Execute food preparation tasks such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food handling with precision and care
- Follow strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials that align with culinary standards
- Support high-volume food production for catering events or large service periods while maintaining quality control
- Ensure proper knife skills are applied during food prep to maximize efficiency and safety
Experience
- Proven culinary experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings
- Demonstrated expertise in food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly
- Experience with dietary department procedures and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in commercial kitchens
- Background in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on food handling and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Prior experience in catering or large-scale food production environments is desirable
