Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Houston, TX. This high-visibility role is ideal for an experienced commissioning professional who can lead complex building systems commissioning for new construction, renovation, retro-commissioning, and existing facility projects.
The Senior Commissioning Specialist will serve as a primary technical authority for mechanical, plumbing, utility infrastructure, and building automation systems, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with design intent, code requirements, and stakeholder expectations. This position offers a strong mix of office-based planning, field execution, client interaction, and hands-on technical problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle, including new construction, retro-commissioning, renovation, and asset management initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute QA/QC protocols, functional performance testing, and system validation for mechanical, plumbing, and BAS/controls systems.
- Oversee equipment start-up for facility systems and utility infrastructure to verify safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with applicable standards and code requirements, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and TAB processes.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, contractors, facility owners, and project stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and drive project completion.
- Prepare commissioning documentation, issue logs, functional verification records, and final reports for facility owners and project teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $60 to $73 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Houston, TX.
- Travel requirement: Up to 50%, including potential multi-week field assignments or periodic long-term site deployments.
