Job Summary
The Medical Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a healthcare facility. This position involves providing administrative support to medical staff, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will have experience in a healthcare setting, particularly within a medical office or similar environment, and will be familiar with medical scheduling and patient service protocols.
Duties
MEDICAL OFFICE BILLING
CHECK IN /CHECK OUT AT THE FRONT DESK, INSURANCE ELIGIBILITY CHECK ( VIA ONLINE AND/OR PHONE).
WRITING CLINICAL NOTES IN THE EHR (PROGRESS NOTES/SOAP NOTES)
SCANNING MEDICAL RECORDS
MANAGE REFERALS/AUTHS
COLLECT ROUTINE & PENDING PAYMENTS, PREPARE INVOICES
- Provide administrative support to medical professionals, including scheduling appointments and managing care plans.
- Manage patient appointments and scheduling using <Medical scheduling> software
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain electronic health records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Coordinate communication between medical staff, patients, and insurance companies
- Utilize knowledge of <Medical receptionist> duties to support clinical staff

MANAGE NOTES IN THE EHR
BILINGUAL A PLUS (spanish, portuguese, creole)
EXPERIENCE A PLUS & CAN HELP RAISE THE HOURLY PAY RATE
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical administrative support role INCLUDING MEDICAL BILLING is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of MEDICAL terminology is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide outstanding patient service.
