Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with food assembly and plating to support the culinary team in delivering visually appealing dishes
- Follow standardized recipes and menu plans to maintain consistency and quality in every meal
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to prevent waste and contamination
- Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Contribute to catering events or special meal preparations as needed to meet guest expectations
Requirements
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Prior kitchen experience in restaurants or the food industry demonstrates familiarity with food handling and preparation techniques
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety standards, and proper knife skills is essential
- Ability to perform meal preparation tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of food service operations, including cooking, food handling, and sanitation practices
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to support a collaborative kitchen environment
