Maintenance Tech (Multifamily Property)
American Equity intends to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician for a fast paced 240-unit apartment complex located in Houston, TX. The position is Monday-Friday daytime hours with rotating on call nights and weekends.

Skills and Position Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC, painting, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.
- On-call availability with reliable transportation and basic tools of the trade.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be able to complete essential functions of position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand instructions and communicate in English.
Key Responsibilities :
- As directed by Lead Maintenance Technician, assist in the completion of resident work orders.
- As directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician pick-up items required for the maintenance of the property.
- Ensure vendors and/or sub-contractors are supervised while on the property.
- Maintain current knowledge of goods and services provided by suppliers and contractors.
- Regularly walk and complete a visual inspection of the entire property , noting any general concerns as to the health, safety and welfare of the residents, staff and visitors.
- Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician to complete all maintenance records for the community.
- Organize, clean, and maintain the maintenance shop, equipment, and supply inventory.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required on all equipment according to manufacturers recommendations and operating manuals.
- As needed, ensure make-ready units are completed on schedule to company standards.
- Maintain the property grounds, common areas, and community pool.
- Other duties and special projects as they arise.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
