Join the Orthopaedic Surgery Team at UT Medical Center, the region’s only academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. This full-time RN Circulator position supports the Orthopaedic Institute, one of UT Medical Center’s nine Centers of Excellence, and its long-standing partnership with KOC providers.
In this role, you will help deliver exceptional care during highly specialized orthopaedic procedures, including complex orthopaedic trauma cases. You will collaborate closely with surgeons and other members of the surgical team to promote safe procedures and optimal patient outcomes in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Monday and Tuesday: 10:30 a.m.–11:00 p.m.

Friday: 9:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m.

No routine call required

Must be available to train on day shift until all required competencies are obtained

Participate in holiday coverage and take call requiring a 30-minute response capability when off orientation
- Serve as the RN Circulator for assigned orthopaedic surgical procedures.

Assist with highly specialized orthopaedic surgeries, including trauma cases at a Level I Trauma Center.

Prepare and support the operating room throughout each assigned procedure.

Perform and document surgical counts.

Coordinate specimen collection, labeling, and management.

Assist with safe and appropriate patient positioning.

Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical team members.

Advocate for patient safety and help optimize surgical outcomes.

Follow AORN standards and all applicable departmental, hospital, and KOC policies, practices, and procedures.
- Board Registered Nurse.

ASN from an accredited school required; BSN preferred.

Basic RN experience required.

Previous surgical or operating room experience preferred.

Candidates without surgical experience may complete approximately three to four months of specialized training.

Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Certifications may be obtained and coordinated upon hire.
