Construction Project Engineer
Job Summary
Janicki General Contracting is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support project managers and superintendents in the successful delivery of civil construction projects. This role is a key coordination position responsible for project documentation, communication, scheduling support, and quality control.
This is a mixed office and field role, ideal for someone with construction experience who is detail-oriented and looking to grow into project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation (plans, specs, logs)
- Distribute drawings, revisions, and project updates to field teams
- Support project scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of trades
- Track project costs, commitments, and assist with procurement and buyout
- Review subcontractor invoices and assist with pay applications
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Participate in site walks to verify work aligns with plans and specifications
- Support quality control and punch list completion
- Promote and support jobsite safety standards and company safety programs
- Prepare meeting notes, reports, and project updates
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction experience
- Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Experience in civil construction or site development

Pay: $36.06 - $48.08 per hour
