American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a day shift position at a Level 2 trauma center with a certified stroke program and Level 3 NICU.

Level 2 trauma center with interventional stroke certification and a Level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource
-
Primarily adult RRT population, with exposure to pediatric intubated patients and infants through geriatrics
-
Procedures include non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function testing (spirometry), arterial line placement, arterial and capillary blood gas collection, oxygen management, and patient education
-
EMR and equipment include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)

Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed

No on-call requirements

Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience

Trauma experience required

Active Georgia RRT license required (license required if applicable)

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are strongly preferred for consideration

Local candidates are accepted

Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler

RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
-
Blackout dates apply to both day and night shifts during portions of June, July, and August — candidates should plan accordingly
-
Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for review

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
