Duties
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients.
- Obtain and record patient histories and vital signs.
- Perform physical assessments and report abnormalities to the veterinarian.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other laboratory samples.
- Perform laboratory testing including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, fecal examinations, cytology preparation, and other in-house diagnostics.
- Obtain and develop diagnostic radiographs while following radiation safety protocols.
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters.
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples accurately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Assist with emergency and critical care patients.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition promptly.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in obtaining patient histories and recording medical information.
- Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, injections, and medication administration.
- Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting.
- Ability to perform in-house laboratory procedures, including bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and cytology preparation.
- Experience with radiology procedures and radiation safety.
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Familiarity with veterinary pharmacy procedures and medication safety.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment as needed.
- Ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes.
- Ability to work in an environment involving animal odors, bodily fluids, and medical procedures.

Pay: $14.50 - $17.00 per hour
