Job Description - Leasing Professional
VennPoint Communities is currently seeking a Leasing Professional to join our team and deliver an exceptional leasing experience while helping prospective residents find a place they are proud to call home.
This position is designed for an energetic, customer-focused sales professional who enjoys building relationships, exceeding goals, and creating outstanding resident experiences. As a Leasing Professional, you will serve as one of the first impressions of the community, guiding prospects through the leasing journey while supporting resident satisfaction, occupancy goals, and community engagement.
Working closely with the Community Director, you will help drive leasing performance through exceptional customer service, effective sales techniques, outreach marketing, and operational excellence.
Schedule
Full-time schedule consisting of every Saturday, one scheduled weekday off each week, and Sundays off. Work hours will be determined based on community needs.
Additional flexibility may be required to support resident events, marketing initiatives, property tours, company meetings, and other operational priorities.

What You'll Do
Leasing & Sales
- Guide prospective residents through the entire leasing journey, from initial inquiry to move-in
- Conduct engaging community and apartment tours that highlight the lifestyle, amenities, and value of the community
- Convert phone calls, internet leads, and walk-in traffic into scheduled tours and signed leases
- Build strong relationships with prospective residents by understanding their needs and recommending the best apartment home
- Maintain expert knowledge of floor plans, pricing, availability, community amenities, sister communities, and local market competition
- Consistently work toward achieving occupancy, leasing, and renewal goals
Resident Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the resident lifecycle
- Build positive relationships with current residents while serving as a trusted resource for questions and concerns
- Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion and resident satisfaction
- Assist with lease renewals, resident retention efforts, and move-out processes
- Support resident appreciation events and community engagement initiatives that strengthen neighborhood connections
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Execute outreach marketing initiatives to generate new leads and increase community visibility
- Create engaging content for social media and other marketing platforms
- Maintain a professional and welcoming leasing office environment
- Ensure model apartments, vacant homes, amenities, tour paths, and community curb appeal remain tour-ready at all times
- Represent VennPoint Communities professionally both inside and outside the community
Administrative Excellence
- Accurately enter prospect and resident information into the property management system
- Process rental applications, lease documents, renewals, move-in paperwork, and other leasing documentation
- Maintain complete and accurate resident files while ensuring compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations
- Answer incoming calls, respond to emails, manage office correspondence, and provide general administrative support
- Assist with office organization, supply ordering, and daily operational tasks
What You'll Need to Succeed
We are looking for a motivated leasing professional who combines strong sales ability with outstanding customer service and a passion for creating exceptional resident experiences.
Preferred qualifications include:
- One or more years of apartment leasing, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience
- Proven ability to build relationships and close sales in a goal-oriented environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office and property management software preferred
- Experience with Entrata or similar property management software preferred
- Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and leasing best practices
- Professional appearance with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, residents, vendors, and prospective residents
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the community for extended periods
- Frequently walk apartments, climb stairs, and conduct community tours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Ability to read computer screens, lease documents, and marketing materials
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through written communication
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors while conducting property tours in varying weather conditions
Additional Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous apartment leasing or customer service experience preferred
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and occasional holidays
- Ability to support multiple communities as business needs require
- Ability to travel for training, outreach marketing, and company meetings
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Fair Housing laws and company policies
- Where applicable, obtain and maintain any required state leasing license
