Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and accurately
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly
- Assist with meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation quality aligns with restaurant standards
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate prep work and ensure smooth service flow
Requirements
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven food service or restaurant experience demonstrating knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Culinary experience or training in the food industry is preferred; catering experience is a plus
