Midwest Motors is a family-owned and operated company with 5 dealerships located across the Twin Cities area. Brands include Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Ford. The Human Resources department supports our 750+ employees, and is an onsite position based in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Position Summary:
The Full-Time Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, reporting, and other HR support needs as requested.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accurate and timely payroll for weekly and semi-monthly employees using UKG Pro.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure all payroll documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Process child support orders, tax levies, and wage garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, taxes, and garnishments in CDK accounting software.
- Management of HRIS set-up for earnings, deductions, GL accounts, and other related fields.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc payroll and HR reports as needed.
- Complete annual EEO-1 reporting and other required compliance reporting.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements.
- Assist with payroll processing for employee terminations, including final pay and related documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and general HR policies and procedures.
- Support the Human Resources team with payroll administration and other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience processing payroll for a mid-sized company (500 - 1000 employees).
- 2 years of experience using UKG’s software/HRIS management (preferred) or other HRIS software.
- Proficient in Excel and other Office 365 applications.
- Working knowledge of accounting and general ledgers.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of data entry.
- FPC Certification - preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour (non-exempt position)
