About the role:
The Medicaid Enrollment Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all new employee enrollment packets are accurate, complete, and meet compliance requirements. This position performs contractually required background checks and screenings to verify that prospective employees meet eligibility standards to work as paid caregivers. The specialist processes results, interprets findings, and communicates outcomes to employers, ensuring adherence to State and agency background check policies.
- Receive, review, and validate new employee enrollment packets for completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct and coordinate required background checks and screenings in accordance with contractual and State guidelines.
- Interpret background check results and determine eligibility status (cleared/eligible or ineligible).
- Notify employers promptly of prospective employees’ eligibility status.
- Serve as a liaison with State agencies and community partners regarding background check processes, results, and policy variances.
- Track, document, and report on background check activities, maintaining compliance with reporting standards.
- Stay up to date on State background check policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with applicable privacy laws and organizational policies.
- Identify and correct enrollment discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to maintain confidential information and adhere to HIPAA requirements.
· Effectively work as a member of a team while working on individual tasks. · Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to interpret and apply State and federal policies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with the Criminal Offender Record Information CORI process and records and other Criminal Justice Information Systems CJIS related to background record checks.
Physical demands/Working Conditions:
- Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
