Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and food processors.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following proper sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules.
- Handle food safely by adhering to food handling guidelines, safety standards, and hygiene practices at all times.
- Support food service operations by coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery.
- Contribute to food safety management by monitoring storage conditions, labeling ingredients correctly, and preventing cross-contamination.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, chopping, and cooking methods.
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in a food industry setting.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Catering or restaurant experience is a plus, showcasing versatility in food service environments.
