Join our dedicated educational team as an Extensions EC Adapted Curriculum Teacher, where your passion for inclusive education and specialized instruction will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners with diverse needs. Duties
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to meet their unique developmental and educational needs
- Adapt curriculum content across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy to accommodate various disabilities including autism, visual impairments, and developmental delays
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, and instructional design principles to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, and other professionals to coordinate interventions and support services
- Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs
- Utilize educational technology tools to facilitate interactive learning experiences and monitor student progress through assessments and standardized testing
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct regular reviews of IEP goals, and ensure compliance with educational regulations and special education law
Experience
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in early childhood or preschool settings, preferably within private or specialized schools
- Strong background in special education principles, curriculum development, and instructional techniques for students with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners using assistive technology and learning tools
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices including behavioral therapy, positive behavior support plans, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Familiarity with educational compliance standards related to IEPs, special education law, and regulatory requirements governing inclusive classrooms
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and external service providers
- Experience in early intervention programs or toddler care is a plus; certification in speech therapy or related fields is advantageous but not required

Pay: $43,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
