Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring a variety of flooring materials across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces by ensuring precise installation and finishing of floors, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to determine flooring specifications and layout.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or adhesives for optimal flooring adhesion.
- Install a wide range of flooring materials including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpets, and laminate with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, lay, and finish flooring materials according to project requirements.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore floors to their original condition.
- Ensure compliance with building installation safety standards and industry regulations during all phases of installation.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship.
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation including hardwood, vinyl, tile laying, epoxy floor installation, carpet installation, and floor refinishing.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or construction plans.
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and other building materials for precise installation work.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely while adhering to proper manual handling techniques.
- Construction site experience with a focus on building material installation and restoration projects.
- Familiarity with water damage restoration processes and caulking or trim carpentry for finishing touches.
- Knowledge of construction safety protocols including building installation safety compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during remodeling or renovation projects.
- Preferred experience includes cabinetry installation, construction painting, handyman tasks, remodeling projects, or working within the restoration industry.
