Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Support patients with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to promote safety during transfers.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings according to care plans and HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans.
- Engage with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders through direct support activities that foster independence and social engagement.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices.
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and knowledge of vital signs monitoring.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
