Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Patrol Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, working 16 hours across Saturdays and Sundays. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling designated areas, monitoring the community, and responding promptly to incidents. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises on foot or by vehicle to identify potential security risks or breaches
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems continuously to oversee activity across the site
- Perform thorough background checks on visitors, contractors, and vendors entering the premises
- Respond swiftly and effectively to alarms or emergency situations, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism, employing conflict management techniques to de-escalate issues
- Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and CCTV systems
- Enforce loss prevention policies by observing suspicious behavior and taking appropriate action to prevent theft or vandalism
- Assist with manual handling tasks when necessary, including heavy lifting of equipment or supplies in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain detailed incident reports and logs of patrol activities for accountability and review purposes
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems effectively
- Background in military, law enforcement, or security services demonstrating discipline and situational awareness
- First aid certification along with CPR training to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies
- Knowledge of manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safety standards
- Proficiency in performing background checks on visitors and staff as part of security protocols
- Ability to operate security tools such as Taser devices, AEDs, and other emergency response equipment
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle tense situations calmly and professionally
- Familiarity with loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and property damage
- Experience in CCTV monitoring for continuous surveillance oversight
