Electrical Field Service Technician
Location: Los Angeles, CA | Regional Travel Role
Compensation: $35 to $85+/hour, based on experience, certifications, and technical level
We are hiring an Electrical Field Service Technician to perform acceptance and maintenance testing on medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment across industrial, utility, and data center environments. This role is ideal for technicians with hands-on electrical testing experience who prioritize safety, technical accuracy, and high-quality field work.
Technicians at varying experience levels are encouraged to apply. Placement level and compensation will be determined based on experience, certifications, and technical capabilities. Candidates with strong field testing experience are welcome, even without formal certification.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday travel rotation for regional projects
- Overtime available based on project requirements
- Travel may be required depending on project scope
Compensation
- $35 to $85+/hour, based on experience and certification level
- Per diem approximately $127/day (based on applicable travel rates)

What You'll Do
In this role, you will perform acceptance and maintenance testing on medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment in accordance with NETA standards. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and test electrical power systems including switchgear, power transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and protection systems.
You will follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and comply with NFPA 70E safety standards while working in field environments. Depending on project requirements, you may assist with arc-flash and shock hazard evaluations.
Technicians are responsible for reviewing and analyzing test results, identifying deficiencies, and preparing detailed field service reports. You will communicate findings and project updates to internal teams and customers while supporting safe and efficient project execution.
Depending on experience level, this position may include leading field crews, mentoring junior technicians, or taking ownership of project scopes and client communication.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of electrical testing or power systems experience
- Experience working with medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment
- Understanding of power distribution systems
- Familiarity with NETA standards and NFPA 70E safety requirements
- Ability to travel as needed based on project demands
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV)
- NICET Electrical Power Testing (EPT) Certification (Level II, III, or IV)
- OSHA 30 certification
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience with PowerDB software
- Experience using OEM testing equipment such as Megger, Doble, Omicron, or similar systems
