About My Practice
I'm Sophia O'Connor, an AASECT-certified sex therapist in Denver working with couples and individuals. My practice is sex-positive and attachment-informed, built to hold the full range of what clients bring, without shame or avoidance. I am trained in the following couples therapy models: EFT, PACT, Developmental Model, and Gottman.
About the Role
I'm growing and looking for a licensed therapist to join me as a subcontractor, seeing clients under my practice's established brand and platform. This role is equal parts couples therapy and sex therapy — you'll carry a caseload that reflects both, and I'm looking for someone who's genuinely drawn to that intersection.
You'll bring your own clinical style, with training and interest in the areas I specialize in:
- Couples and sex therapy — this is the core of the role
- Training in EFT, PACT, or the Developmental Model for couples work
- AASECT certification, or actively working toward it, is a strong plus
- Individual therapy
- Discernment counseling and conscious uncoupling
- Infidelity Work
- Low libido and sexual functioning concerns
- Kink, BDSM, and alternative sexuality-affirming care
- Ethical non-monogamy
- Out-of-control sexual behavior
You don't need to check every box — but training in at least one evidence-based couples modality (EFT, PACT, or the Developmental Model) is important, and comfort with sex therapy is essential. If you have a strong couples foundation and want to deepen your sex therapy work, I'd like to hear from you.
What I'm Looking For
- Active, unrestricted Colorado license — LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
- Training in EFT, PACT, or the Developmental Model
- In the process of getting EFT, PACT, or Developmental Model trained (a plus)
- Experience with couples therapy and comfort discussing sexuality and relationships directly, without judgment
- AASECT certification, or clear interest in pursuing it (a plus)
- EMDR training (a plus)
- Ability to hold a consistent caseload
- A space to work from:
- Your own private office for in-person sessions, or interest in subletting mine
- A reliable, HIPAA-compliant space to take telehealth sessions from
What I Provide
- A full caseload
- Monthly case consultation on sex therapy
- Your own branded presence: A SimplePractice profile under my practice, a professional email address, and an email signature card — all set up for you
- Intake and first-session booking: My office manager handles both for every new client
- A professional headshot: AI-generated, high quality, for your profile and marketing
- Setup and ongoing support: My office manager walks you through SimplePractice and stays available
- Optional LoHi office sublet: Mon–Fri 4:30–8:30 PM and Sat–Sun, if you'd like in-person session space
- Optional monthly team meeting: Informal peer connection — not clinical supervision
- Autonomy: You set your own schedule and work from your own office. No required meetings, no clinical oversight from me
What You'll Handle
- Your own scheduling: My office manager books the first session. Everything after that is yours — rescheduling, cancellations, follow-ups, and recurring appointments
- Your own client communication: All of it, through your practice email address. Clients will only know you through this address, so using it is required
- Keeping your calendar synced and current: SimplePractice is what my office manager books into, and what reflects your availability. All calendar events must be on SimplePractice
- A consistent, reliable caseload: I encourage new clients onto a weekly or biweekly rhythm, which only works if you can hold recurring slots and don't chronically cancel
- Use of the provided headshot on all things relating to your work through my practice
Supervision: This role doesn't include clinical supervision from me. You're expected to maintain your own supervisor or consultation arrangement, as appropriate to your license and practice needs. The monthly team meeting is optional peer support, not a substitute for supervision.
