Industrial Electrician - Industrial Manufacturing
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift, 8-hour shifts, on-call as needed
Location: Huntersville, NC
Pay Rate: $32 to $38 per hour
Hours: Minimum 40 per week, overtime required as needed
About the Role
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for performing corrective and preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance on production, fabrication, service, and facility equipment. Working under minimal supervision, this role plays a critical part in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. The Electrician will troubleshoot complex electrical systems, support continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate closely with maintenance and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production, facilities, laboratory, and testing equipment
Troubleshoot, evaluate, repair, and adjust equipment using tools and electrical testing devices
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P and ID drawings
Work with hardwired relay logic, automation systems, and PLCs
Troubleshoot and repair 480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC, and 4 to 20 mA systems
Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment failures
Support mechanical maintenance including hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting
Identify opportunities to improve the maintenance program through continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate maintenance records and required reports
Follow all safety procedures including lockout tagout, confined space, PPE, and NFPA arc flash standards
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to support plant objectives
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years experience performing industrial electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and controls
Ability to safely and independently use required tools and testing equipment
Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours with little or no notice
Reliable attendance and strong safety mindset
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth PLC troubleshooting experience
Root cause analysis experience
Mechanical troubleshooting experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience working in high-voltage industrial environments
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crawling, and squatting
Ability to work around industrial machinery and moving mechanical parts
Exposure to noise, heat, electrical hazards, and chemical vapors
Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet and in confined spaces
Color vision required for identifying color-coded wiring
