Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Crane Operator to join our dynamic construction and materials handling team. In this vital role, you will operate boom truck cranes to facilitate efficient and safe movement of heavy materials/trusses on construction sites. Your expertise in load handling procedures, rigging, and safety regulations will ensure projects progress smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties
- Operate boom trucks to lift, move, and position heavy materials/trusses accurately on construction sites.
- Follow load handling procedures and load securing rigging methods to ensure safe transportation of materials.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of crane machinery and safety equipment to identify potential issues before use.
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all crane operations.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan lifting activities efficiently.
- Maintain detailed logs of crane operation activities, inspections, and any incidents or safety concerns.
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as loading/unloading shipments, operation, and warehouse logistics when needed.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of crane systems, hydraulics, and load handling equipment operation.
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes, boom trucks in construction environments.
- Strong understanding of load securing rigging methods and rigging techniques for safe lifting operations.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and related machinery.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting cranes or materials between sites.
- NCCCO Certification preferred. Testing sponsorship available.
