Job Overview
Join our team as a Prep Cook and Cashier at our bakery. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality food items while providing exceptional customer service at the register. Bakery experience not required, we will train the right motivated candidate. This is a tipped position in a busy location.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production.
- Operate kitchen equipment efficiently, demonstrating knife skills and slicing techniques to prepare ingredients accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety management protocols.
- Greet customers warmly at the register, take orders accurately, and process payments efficiently as a cashier.
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation to support catering events or daily service needs.
- Ensure all food served meets safety standards in production, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with food industry standards related to safety, handling, and sanitation.
- Strong knife skills with slicing techniques to prepare ingredients efficiently.
- Experience in restaurant or kitchen environments demonstrating culinary competence.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude.
