COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY
Join our aerospace manufacturing team as a Composite Technician in Salt Lake City, Utah! This night shift Composite Technician position offers excellent pay at $22/hour with consistent Monday through Friday hours. You'll work with cutting-edge composite materials in a stable manufacturing environment with opportunities for skill development and career growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform lay-up, braiding, and filament winding of composite materials according to customer and company specifications as a Composite Technician
- Bond various dissimilar materials including composite, metal, and laminate assemblies into semi-finished or finished products
- Cut parts and materials to size, ensuring precise measurements and quality standards
- Apply liquid or solid bonding agents using proper techniques and safety protocols
- Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles
- Control heat, pressure, and timing conditions by setting and operating various controls according to material specifications
- Sand, burr, and smooth surfaces, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges
- Monitor and verify quality of finished products throughout the manufacturing process
- Complete repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions
- Assist with loading autoclaves and ovens using forklifts, cranes, or handling carts
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school diploma or GED (verification required)
- Ability to identify different process materials, prepregs, adhesives, and resins
- Experience with cutting and kitting materials
- Ability to complete lay-ups using measuring instruments, shop orders, blueprints, or laser ply projector
- Experience vacuum bagging basic shapes and sizes
- Willingness to wear required safety equipment including safety glasses, gloves, vest, hair net, and smock
- Ability to work night shift hours consistently
Preferred:
- Previous Composite Technician experience in aerospace or manufacturing environment
- Experience operating autoclave and hydraulic press equipment
- Knowledge of composite material properties and applications
- Forklift or crane operation experience
- Attention to detail and quality control experience
SCHEDULE & SHIFT
Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM. This Composite Technician role offers consistent night shift hours with weekends off for excellent work-life balance.
