About the opportunity
Vetted, LLC provides food-service support on military installations. We are seeking dependable cooks and food-service staff to help operate the 3rd SFG(A) Tribe Café dining facility on Fort Bragg. This is weekday, daytime work — no nights and no weekends.
Positions
Food Service Worker
Pay: $12.84/hr + $5.55/hr H&W | Openings: 2/day | SCA class: 07130 | Contingent on contract award
Summary
Supports meal prep and service and keeps the food-service area clean and sanitary.
Key duties
- Prepare and portion food; set up serving lines and serve patrons.
- Wash dishes, clean surfaces and equipment, and store food properly.
- Follow all food-safety and hygiene protocols.
- Restock tableware, beverages, and condiments during meals.
What we need from you
- Food-service or kitchen experience a plus; willingness to learn.
- Food handler / ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable with early-morning shifts.
Cook I
Pay: $16.44/hr + $5.55/hr H&W | Openings: 2/day | SCA class: 07041 | Contingent on contract award
Summary
Prepares and serves high-quality meals and assists the Shift Leader in daily shift operations.
Key duties
- Lead-cook or kitchen-supervisor experience in a high-volume kitchen.
- ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Military DFAC or contract food-service experience preferred.
What we need from you
- Prepare main-line, short-order, breakfast, salad-bar, and baked items using standardized recipes.
- Set up and maintain serving lines; ensure safe temperatures and portion control.
- Support progressive/batch cooking to match diner flow.
- Maintain sanitized surfaces and handle leftovers safely.
Cook II — Shift Leader
Pay: $18.63/hr + $5.55/hr H&W | Openings: 3/day | SCA class: 07042 | Contingent on contract award
Summary
Leads a shift — supervising and coordinating the crew to prepare and serve quality meals with excellent customer service.
Key duties
- Direct food prep and serving-line operations; set up and break down the lines.
- Supervise and train cooks and food-service workers on shift.
- Maintain safe food temperatures, sanitized surfaces, and proper storage.
- Keep the line stocked throughout the meal period.
What we need from you
- Cooking experience in a high-volume, institutional, or restaurant kitchen.
- ServSafe/food handler certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Military or contract food-service experience a plus.
Assistant Manager
Pay: $21.00/hr + $5.55/hr H&W | Openings: 1/day | Contingent on contract award
Summary
Leads Vetted's on-site crew at the Tribe Café dining facility, making sure the team meets all quality and food-safety standards and works smoothly alongside government staff. On-site during all facility hours.
Key duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily crew; assign work and keep accurate time records.
- Serve as day-to-day point of contact with the government representative.
- Enforce quality control, sanitation, and food-safety standards and correct issues quickly.
- Manage coverage, call-outs, and staffing.
What we need from you
- Supervisory experience in a high-volume or military/institutional food-service operation.
- ServSafe Manager certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong organization and communication skills; DFAC/contract experience a plus.
All positions include a Service Contract Act (SCA) Health & Welfare benefit of $5.55/hour that can go toward health insurance and paid leave. Uniforms are provided.
Schedule and location
- Location: 3rd SFG(A) Tribe Café Dining Facility, Fort Bragg, NC.
- Monday–Friday, 0530–1430 (breakfast and lunch service). Closed on Federal and installation holidays.
- Roughly 232 workdays per year — steady, predictable daytime hours.
What you'll do
- Prepare and serve high-quality meals during breakfast and lunch.
- Keep the kitchen and serving areas clean, sanitary, and safe.
- Follow food-safety standards and standardized recipes.
- Cooks and Assistant Managers also help lead, train, and coordinate the crew.
What we're looking for
- Food-service, cafeteria, kitchen, or military dining experience (more experience required for Cook and Assistant Manager roles).
- Hold a ServSafe certification — OR be ready and willing to obtain one. (Required for all positions.)
- Able to pass a background check for Fort Bragg installation access.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (we participate in E-Verify).
- Reliable transportation and available for early-morning weekday shifts.
