Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs within a self-contained classroom environment. Your passion for fostering growth, independence, and confidence in students with disabilities will help create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere. You will collaborate closely with other educators, therapists, and families to develop tailored educational plans that meet each student’s unique needs. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans incorporating curriculum development, literacy education, math, communication skills, and social-emotional learning
- Utilize instructional modifications and accommodations to support diverse learning styles and abilities
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques
- Collaborate regularly with behavioral health specialists, teachers, and parents to support student progress
- Integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and engagement
- Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents in compliance with special education law
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development and supports children’s social skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related field or Master’s degree preferred
- Proven experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays
- Familiarity with educational technology integration and curriculum development tools
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent-teacher collaboration and team coordination
- Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while fostering a positive learning environment
- Prior preschool or early childhood education experience is highly desirable; private school or Montessori experience is a plus

Pay: $18,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
