Performs routine test in the medical laboratory for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease in accordance with the clinical and governmental standards and within the established budget.
- Medical Technologists/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLT) with Bachelor’s Degree.
OR
- Medical Laboratory Technician/ MLT with Associates Degree.
OR
- Military- Medical laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician)
OR
- Qualifies under CLIA ‘67 or CLIA ‘88 personnel guidelines.

Certification from ASCP BOC.

Valid MN driver’s license.

DOT and BAT certification (Breath Alcohol Testing) certification. (Training provided by SEMC).
- Continuing Education by an accreditation agency.
- Preferred One (1) year of recent experience in an accredited laboratory.

Due to call requirements, must live within a 20- minute vicinity of Sleepy Eye, MN or be willing to relocate.
Testing personnel responsibilities.
The testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results. Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting and records of patient testing. Perform and document Quality Control and maintenance procedures to ensure accuracy and precision.
Follow the laboratory's established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance;
Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant or director; and
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
Will rotate On Call coverage with other MTs and MLTs to ensure 24 hour/365 day coverage of the laboratory for patient testing.
Sleepy Eye Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). 64-80 hours per two-week pay period. Rotating weekends and holidays, and call rotation during the week and weekends. Responsibilities include: obtaining orders, collecting and processing specimens, knowledge of testing procedures, quality control, quality assurance, and analyzer maintenance following established standards and practices.
