Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Manager (CL AM) is responsible for supporting and managing a book of business while partnering closely with Producers to support new business development. This role serves as a strategic advisor to clients, leads renewal management, and contributes to overall organizational growth through proactive service, relationship management, and cross-sell initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and service a Commercial Lines book of business, including renewals, endorsements, and client needs
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with clients, carriers, and vendor partners
- Evaluate client insurance programs and provide thoughtful, strategic coverage recommendations
- Partner with Producers on new business opportunities and support account growth initiatives
- Serve as a subject matter resource to Producers and team members on market trends, carrier practices, coverage gaps, and client exposures
- Champion account rounding and cross-selling opportunities to enhance client value and retention
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency best practices, ensuring all activity is properly recorded in the agency management system
- Delegate administrative and transactional tasks appropriately to support team efficiency
- Stay current on industry trends, carrier updates, and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty license required
- 3–5+ years of Commercial Lines insurance client service experience
- Insurance designations preferred (e.g., CISR, ARM, AAI)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Lines coverages, underwriting, marketplace dynamics, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Applied Epic preferred
