Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Administer medication following care plans and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support patients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s and dementia, implementing specialized techniques to ensure safety and comfort
- Utilize equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping, laundry, and sanitation tasks
Skills
- Proven experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on patient observation and monitoring
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle urgent situations confidently
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or Alzheimer’s/dementia care requirements
- Ability to work effectively with care plans, medication administration protocols, and HIPAA privacy standards
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, family members, and clients
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Compassionate attitude combined with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple care responsibilities efficiently
