CNC Operators at MMI perform a variety of tasks while operating various equipment including primarily CNC lathes and mills in a production environment. While prior CNC machining experience is preferred, we only require that new team members are willing and able to learn the following:
· Part Inspection and Adjustment: Inspect parts per specifications ensuring all tolerances are met and all procedures are adhered to. Make adjustments as necessary to maintain adherence to specifications.
· Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished parts to verify they meet quality standards using a wide range of measuring tools and equipment including coordinate measuring machines, stand comparators, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
· Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine preventative maintenance as specified, accurately report malfunctions and faults, conduct operator-level troubleshooting as required.
· Documentation: Maintain production and quality logs while operating. Conduct daily time ticket entries to log production metrics and maintain accurate inventory accounting for in-process product.
· Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, handle materials safely, and maintain a clean work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret process-specific specification sheets. Must be able to quickly perform basic arithmetic with decimal numbers.
· Attention to Detail: Must be able to perform precision measuring in a repeatable manner and inspect parts against strict tolerances. Must be able to identify visual nonconformances quickly.
· Critical Thinking: Must have the ability to apply skills and knowledge learned on-the-job to troubleshoot part nonconformances and machine malfunctions.
· Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand in a small area for two hours. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
· Computer Skills: Must have a basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software.
