Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mold Maker / CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision molds used in plastics injection molding processes. You will operate and program CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality tooling components. Your mechanical expertise and attention to detail will ensure the production of durable, accurate molds that meet strict specifications. Duties
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop mold designs and tooling layouts.
- Program CNC machinery utilizing CAM programming techniques to produce precise mold components.
- Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and other fabrication equipment with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to verify dimensions during machining processes.
- Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) for complex mold features requiring high precision.
- Fabricate molds and tooling using welding, stamping presses, hand tools, and fabrication techniques while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct inspections of finished parts using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Assemble mold components with mechanical knowledge of plastics injection molding systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, schematics, and quality control records.
- Collaborate with team members on troubleshooting machining issues and optimizing manufacturing workflows.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mold Maker or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM software for machine setup and operation.
- Skilled in operating CNC lathe and milling machines with a focus on precision machining.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for mold fabrication.
- Experience working with plastics injection molding processes and tooling development.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and micrometers.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with welding skills for fabricating custom parts or repairs.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards to ensure dimensional accuracy of machined components.
- Strong math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters.

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
