Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nurse Medication Administration to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately administering medications to patients across various care settings, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications via various routes , injections, oral, topical, and catheter care while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to medication administration, including vital signs and medical history review.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects post-medication administration and respond promptly to any emergencies or critical situations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as physicians, pharmacists, case managers, and therapists to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about medication purposes, potential side effects, and proper usage to promote understanding and adherence.
- Follow all infection control procedures and maintain sterile processing standards during medication preparation and administration.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) with current registration in applicable state or region.
- Proven experience Memory Care .
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to medication administration.
- Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations n
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
