Summary:
Southwark Metal is looking for a Corporate Maintenance Engineer (multi-site) to maximize equipment uptime and improve operational efficiency. This position is ideal for someone with a background in sheet metal manufacturing that enjoys balancing equipment troubleshooting with preventative maintenance strategies.
You'll have the opportunity to influence machine reliability across seven facilities and help shape the future of manufacturing at Southwark.
This role will require 30% to 60% domestic travel based on project activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Sheet Metal Machinery Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC/automation failures. Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring issues to apply permanent corrective actions
- Guide local maintenance teams through the maintenance, repair, and proper use of sheet metal manufacturing equipment (coil processing machines, metal roll forming machines, coil fed press, elbow machines, laser cutting, press brakes)
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement routine maintenance strategies to proactively identify equipment wear and prevent unexpected breakdowns
Asset Reliability:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve overall equipment effectiveness and extend machinery
- Establish a system for spare parts inventory based on equipment rankings and execute spare parts rationalization across the network to meet inventory targets.
Multi-Site Operations, Safety & Collaboration
- Identify key equipment vendors and project resources. Connect local maintenance teams with the appropriate vendors for repair parts and tools.
- Support multi-site operations through problem-solving initiatives across seven business units.
- Ensure communication and alignment with leadership, plant managers, local maintenance teams and equipment vendors on all project details.
- Ensure manufacturing safety policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Specifically : (coil processing machines, metal roll forming machines, coil fed press, elbow machines, laser cutting, press brakes)
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex electrical, mechanical and PLC/automation failures.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Willingness to travel as needed to effectively manage projects.
