Industrial Sewing Machine Operator / Seamstress

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Operator / Seamstress to join our production team. Our sewing department consists of a diverse team of skilled employees working with industrial sewing equipment and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce high-quality protective apparel.
This position requires strong sewing skills and previous experience working with commercial or industrial sewing machines. Experience understanding patterns, working with custom measurements, and following detailed production instructions is important.
A significant part of this position involves binding, which requires accuracy, good machine control, and some upper-body strength to properly handle and maneuver our materials while sewing.
You will receive training on Protech's products and production processes and work closely with your supervisor and other team members to ensure every order is completed accurately and meets our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
- Sew binding and trim around the edges of radiation protection apparel.
- Prepare garments by attaching Velcro, buckles, straps, and other components.
- Follow patterns, measurements, and custom sizing specifications.
- Inspect your work throughout the production process to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Identify and communicate potential issues with orders, materials, or specifications.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other production team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with industrial or commercial sewing is required.
- Strong sewing machine skills and ability to work with different materials and garment components.
- Experience reading patterns, measurements, or production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Good hand-eye coordination and machine control.
- Physical strength and endurance to handle materials and perform binding work throughout the day.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency in a production environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, organized, and quality-focused.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
