Duties
- Assist with food preparation, meal assembly, and portioning to ensure timely delivery of delicious, nutritious meals
- Serve meals to residents or patients with friendly customer service, ensuring their dietary preferences and restrictions are respected
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food service areas, including cleaning dishes, utensils, counters, and kitchen equipment
- Support food handling procedures in compliance with food safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
- Buss tables and clear dining areas promptly after meals to uphold a tidy environment
- Help with food storage, inventory management, and restocking supplies as needed to support efficient kitchen operations
- Follow all sanitation protocols during meal preparation and cleaning processes to promote a safe dining environment
- Assist with general kitchen duties such as dishwashing, waste disposal, and maintaining organized workspaces
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal times
- Ability to follow detailed instructions related to dietary restrictions and food safety guidelines
- Experience with food handling, cooking, or culinary tasks is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach toward residents or patients
- Familiarity with sanitation standards and cleaning procedures in a kitchen or food service environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting when necessary
