Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Property Maintenance & Remodeling Manager to oversee rental property operations, coordinate remodeling projects, and perform light maintenance and handyman work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and managing both people and projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating property improvements, handling tenant needs, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and ensuring properties are well-maintained and operating efficiently. This position combines property management, project coordination, and basic maintenance responsibilities..
Remodeling & Project Coordination
- Manage property renovation and remodeling projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate flooring installation, appliance replacement, painting, and unit turnovers.
- Oversee contractors to ensure quality workmanship and project timelines are met.
- Order materials and track project progress.
- Conduct final walkthroughs and quality control inspections.
Maintenance & Handyman Duties
- Perform basic property maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and address common tenant concerns.
- Replace or repair stove parts, faucets, toilets, door hardware, light fixtures, and other basic building components.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Assist with appliance installations and replacements.
- Conduct routine property inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Assess when we need to coordinate larger repairs with licensed contractors. (Ex: Change Water softener, Change building electrical panel, Professional pest control treatment)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property management, maintenance, remodeling, construction, or handyman services preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with computers, email, and property management software.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Expectations
- In-person position based in McFarland, WI with travel to properties in the Madison Area
- Standard hours: Monday- Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability for emergencies, property showings, or project oversight.
- Must be responsive, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance tasks as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
