Job Overview
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to work autonomously as well as collaborate in a team environment, be dedicated to deliverables, and have a strong internal drive to succeed. The candidate will have experience dispatching drivers handling multiple moves per day in the intermodal sector.
Responsibilities
- Interface with customers, drivers, and dispatchers.
- Understand customer-specific delivery requirements and ensure on-time service is consistently achieved.
- Maintain positive team-building relationships throughout all areas with fellow employees; understand driver-specific needs, preferred lanes, and schedules.
- Superior problem-solving abilities, along with a "no, it's the last possible answer" attitude; a creative, out-of-the-box approach to issues preferred.
- Self-starter with above average work ethic, committed to entire team success.
- Understanding of FMCSA rules/guidelines as they relate to dispatch & driver/load selection.
- Available for occasional after-hours calls
- Must be able to work a rotating Saturday Schedule. Typically Every 3-5 weeks.
Experience
- Positive attitude, punctual, and reliable. Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and processes.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, sense of urgency to address time-sensitive issues
- Self-starter and self-directed task manager who actively seeks out what needs to be done without being prompted
- Exceptional knowledge in the Intermodal/Drayage transportation sector
- Proven Leadership skills
- Proficient with using Microsoft Office products & dispatch and ELD software
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience dispatching company drivers in the intermodal/drayage sector
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and processes
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule when required.
- Knowledgeable of DOT and hours of service rules
- Experience with working Port Pro or similar TMS platforms

Pay: From $74,500.00 per year
