Description
This position is for an entry level service technician at King Septic Service, Inc. We are searching for a candidate to add to the team at our growing small business. An ideal candidate will work well with others and independently. You will be trained on servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing many different types of septic, aeration, and wastewater pumping systems. Prior experience with septic systems, plumbing and electric is a plus but we will provide all necessary training. Additional starting compensation above the listed range may be provided based on experience.
An average work week is typically 40-45 hours but this can be more or occasionally but rarely less, depending on the amount of work scheduled. This is often a physically demanding job and it can be very rewarding. Lunch breaks are paid (field employees do not clock out for lunch). We do our best to take care of our employees and are working to build on the great team we currently have. We are hoping to find a candidate interested in a long-term career with us.
Responsibilities
- Learn about numerous types of wastewater systems
- Perform routine maintenance
- Clean wastewater filters
- Some hand digging
- Learn to operate backhoe/excavator
- Install new pumps and aerators (plumbing and wiring)
- Troubleshoot septic problems and electrical problems
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner
- Trustworthy to work efficiently under limited supervision
- Be available to work overtime as needed
Qualifications
- Learn and retain new information quickly
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Plumbing experience is a plus
- Electrical experience is a plus
- Must submit to a background check
- Must submit to a drug test if requested
Pay and Benefits
- The starting pay for this position is expected to range from $20-23/hour based on relevant experience although Additional compensation may be provided based on performance following a 60 day review.
