Compensation
Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Estimated Annual Base Earnings: $62,400 - $83,200, based on a standard 40-hour workweek.
Shift Differential: Additional 15% premium for all hours worked on 2nd shift.
Overtime Opportunities: Overtime may be available based on production schedules and business needs. Overtime compensation is paid in accordance with applicable federal and state wage laws, providing opportunities for employees to increase their annual earnings beyond the posted base range.
Position Summary
An employee-owned manufacturing organization in Bucks County is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join its second-shift operation. This role is responsible for producing high-quality precision-machined components through the setup, operation, and optimization of CNC equipment.
The ideal candidate is a skilled machinist with strong troubleshooting abilities, experience working with tight-tolerance components, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Candidates with CNC milling experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Machining Operations
· Set up, prove out, and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and gear-shaping equipment.
· Review work instructions, engineering drawings, tooling requirements, and production documentation before beginning work.
· Make program edits, tool offset adjustments, and machine compensations as needed.
· Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
· Perform deburring and finishing operations to meet quality requirements.
· Operate multiple machines when production schedules and cycle times permit.
· Complete labor reporting and manufacturing documentation accurately and on time.
Inspection & Quality
· Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
· Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
· Utilize micrometers, calipers, bore gages, dial indicators, and other inspection tools to validate product quality.
· Identify and address quality issues before parts move to the next operation.
· Maintain accurate quality records and support corrective action activities when required.
Process Improvement & Team Support
· Troubleshoot machining challenges and recommend tooling, fixture, and process improvements.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and productivity.
· Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve operational performance.
· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced machinists.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Assist with other manufacturing activities as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
Experience
· Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience setting up and operating CNC turning and/or milling equipment.
· Ability to work independently from blueprints, sketches, and written instructions with minimal supervision.
· Experience making CNC program edits, adjusting offsets, and optimizing machining processes.
· Proven ability to manufacture precision components to close tolerances.
Technical Skills
· Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
· Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Proficiency using precision inspection equipment, including:
o Micrometers
o Calipers
o Dial Indicators
o Bore Gages
o Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
· Strong understanding of cutting tools, machining practices, speeds and feeds, and metal-cutting principles.
· Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
· Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
Preferred Qualifications
· CNC milling experience.
· Experience with CAD and/or SolidWorks software.
· Previous mentoring, training, or leadership experience.
· Experience manufacturing precision components in a low-volume, high-mix production environment.

· Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Ability to visually inspect components, read technical drawings, and operate precision measuring instruments.
