The Manager, Physician Recruitment is responsible for leading and managing the physician and advanced practice provider recruitment function for Ellis Medicine. The position develops and executes comprehensive recruitment strategies to ensure the successful attraction, recruitment, onboarding, and retention of highly qualified physicians and advanced practice providers. Acting as a strategic partner to Medical Staff Leadership, Department Chairs, Practice Leaders, and senior administration, the Manager oversees candidate sourcing, recruitment marketing, interview coordination, contract development support, workforce planning, and recruitment operations.
The Manager serves as the primary liaison between candidates and Ellis Medicine throughout the recruitment lifecycle while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience and alignment with organizational workforce goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of physician or healthcare provider recruitment experience required.
- Minimum of two years of leadership, supervisory, project management, or program management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of physician compensation models, provider contracting, credentialing, and onboarding processes preferred.
- Familiarity with physician recruitment sourcing strategies, recruitment technologies, and industry best practices.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with executives, physicians, medical staff leadership, and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
- Develop, implement, and lead physician and advanced practice provider recruitment strategies that support organizational growth and workforce planning initiatives.
Partner with executive leadership, Department Chairs, Medical Directors, and Practice Leaders to assess current and future provider staffing needs.
- Oversees the work of others including sourcing staff, and physician recruiter(s)
- Develops and tracks metrics to evaluate program success and alignment with national benchmarks
- Represents Ellis medicine at the appropriate physician centric events for the purposes of establishing pipelines, prospect development, recruiting, relationship development.
- Manage all phases of physician and APP recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, site visit coordination, offer development, negotiations, onboarding, and retention planning.
- Responds to Physician inquiries within 24/48 hours.
- Establish and maintain recruitment metrics, dashboards, and reports to monitor recruitment effectiveness, vacancy trends, candidate pipeline activity, time-to-fill, and recruitment outcomes.
- Develop and manage annual recruitment plans for physician and APP vacancies.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with residency and fellowship programs, medical schools, professional organizations, recruitment firms, and healthcare networks.
- Oversee physician recruitment marketing efforts, including digital campaigns, recruitment websites, social media presence, conference participation, and advertising strategies.
- Manage recruitment vendors, physician search firms, advertising contracts, and recruitment-related service agreements.
- Coordinate physician candidate visits, interview itineraries, community tours, and spouse/partner integration activities.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Medical Staff Services, Credentialing, Human Resources, and Compliance to support provider contracting, onboarding, and employment processes.
Assist leadership in evaluating physician compensation proposals, market data, recruitment incentives, relocation assistance, and employment agreements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, regulatory, and organizational policies related to physician recruitment and hiring.
- Monitor physician workforce trends, recruitment best practices, and market conditions to recommend innovative recruitment and retention strategies.
- Represent Ellis Medicine at recruitment events, residency fairs, professional conferences, and community outreach activities.
- Foster a positive candidate experience that reflects Ellis Medicine's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
- Develop and support physician retention initiatives in collaboration with operational and medical leadership.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Complete all mandatory requirements and education on time
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily indoors under normal working conditions. Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods; perform frequent keyboarding and other hand-eye coordination tasks; and intermittently stand, walk, squat, and lift/move up to 15 pounds (push/pull up to 25 pounds). Travel may be required for recruitment events, conferences, and candidate visits.

Salary Range: $47.28-70.92 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
